Hakuba Cortina / △235cm / Snowy2019.Mar.13
It began to snow from yesterday evening and it snowed densely from 7:00 this morning. It was not so cold with weak wind. Students having a lesson and teachers of Cortina Skiing School held poses for us.
[Ikenoda Slope]
There was 10cm fresh snow on the compacted granular snow with a lot of water in Ikenoda Slope. The courses were crowded with beginners and intermediates, so the fresh snow was shaved and it made the courses messy. But the snow was soft, so it didn’t trouble for sliding.
[Ikenoda Slope]
We expected ‘powdered festival’ but the 4th and the 5th pair lifts didn’t work all day in case there was a danger of snowslip at the top of the slopes. Ipponmatsu Course was also the same condition as Ikenoda Slope but there were not so many mess areas.
[Ipponmatsu Course]
There was fresh snow shaved by sliders on the uneaven and compacted granular snow in Rabbit Course. Every time we turned, edges slipped and it was hard to treat boards because of the fresh snow. In Kamoshika Course, the ground became deep and hard moguls, so it was SUPER hard even for advanced sliders to slide down.
