The area around JR Hakuba Station has become an outdoor shopping hub in recent years. In fact, THE NORTH FACE GRAVITY HAKUBA features one of the most complete lineups of trekking and mountaineering clothing and gear of any of the North Face stores in Japan. GRAVITY branded t-shirts (short sleeve & long sleeve), hoodies and tumblers sold only in Hakuba are available as well (pictured, front rack).

The Patagonia Hakuba / Outlet is now stocked with new merchandise for fall and winter as of today, 8/25 (Thurs.). The new Granite Crest Jacket, worn by the female staff member pictured here, is made of 100% NetPlus recycled nylon sourced from recycled fishing nets in an effort to reduce ocean pollution. Trail running items, such as those showcased here by the male staff member, are also on hand.

Snow Peak LAND STATION HAKUBA, the largest Snow Peak store in all of Japan, offers an incredible selection of camping goods and equipment. Here you can buy titanium mugs and vacuum insulated bottles sporting the Snow Peak logo that are available nowhere else. I was also informed by a staff member that “STAY plans” with tent setup support are also offered.

Hakuba Yamatoya is now selling ONYONE 3LAYER Combat Jackets (*available in white and dusty blue) and Pants (black) sporting the HAKUBA VALLEY logo. The store owner Matsuzawa-san (pictured) told me, “Even with the impressive specs, the jacket (¥9,900) and pants (¥6,600) are very reasonably priced. They are primarily designed as rainwear, but they are impressively wind-resistant as well and can be used as outerwear. We have fall and winter items on sale now, so please drop by and have a look.”
