MTB Enduro racing, which was originally held in France, is a tough race typically taken place over one (or a few) days. Enduro National Series (ENS) is the only MTB enduro series held in Japan. This year, the opening game, ENS#1, was held in Hakuba Iwatake on Sunday, September 6 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, although the racing usually starts in April.

In the racing, riders are timed in three downhill stages (courses), “S1”, “S2”, and “S3”. The starting platform in the main venue was surrounded by MTB and apparel booths. Riders started for the S1 stage after interviewed (pictured).

The S1 stage is the cross country course at the mountain foot, the S2 stage is the upper area of the Alps Downhill Course, and the S3 stage is the part of Kamikaze Downhill and Alps Downhill Course. Riders were divided into four classes: AA, A, B, and C. The AA class for professional riders requires speed and skills. Mr. Hiroshi Sasaki, who belongs to the AA class, supervised the course arrangement.

Mr. Naoto Hirano and Ms. *** have announced their marriage on Monday, September 7. They had been in a relationship since they both took place in ENS and MTB lessons in 2017. They had their wedding photos in HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR in the morning (pictured) and with MTB in the afternoon. “Best wishes for your marriage”, some passers-by said. Their beloved bike was decorated with their special cloths saying “2020” “0808”.
