Tomorrow is the last day of green season in Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort. The sky was clear blue and the resort was crowded even before opening. There were eight stalls from Hakuba Village and outside Hakuba Village at “Hakuba Iwatake Marche”, which started in the open space in front of Gondola Sancho Station at 10 a.m.

Trees shed their leaves and late autumn scenery spread out at the mountain top. It was only four degrees in the early morning and my hands got too cold to hold camera. However, the temperature went up as the sun rose. It was not windy and I saw some people relaxing on the lawn or at the deck.

Ground cherry processed food (in the photo), fresh rice and vegetables, apples and apple processed food, jars of jam etc. were on sale in the shop. Miso soup with pork and local vegetables was offered free of charge (※ only 100 bowls) and people were waiting in a line.

It cleared up in the morning. Everyone seemed impressed by the magnificent sight of Ushiro Tateyama Mountain Ridge, including Hakuba Sanzan. People were waiting in a line for bread and cookies at THE CITY BAKERY and the seats were almost full at the terrace and dining space.

Members of Nozawa Onsen Jr. Ski Club were going downhill course at Hakuba Iwatake MTB PARK. “We use bicycles as part of training during summer.”, they said. I also saw some riding full suspension mountain bikes wearing helmets. Thank you for reading our reports during this season.
