The clouds broke up as time passed and we had 2 straight sunny days. A breeze was blowing but not cold and there was the warm sunlight, so I could trek comfortably. The first gondola had a line of hikers who wore winter jackets and had equipment for snowed mountains.

Some parts of trails after Cairn No.2 were muddy, but the snow has melted in the area where got a lot of sun. Besides, the snow on the trails also disappeared, so it was easy to climb up to Cairn No.3. Around Happo-ike Pond, the snow which melted yesterday was frozen this morning.

Anyway, the contrast of Northern Alps and the blue sky was so beautiful!! It was blowing almost no wind, so the surface of the water reflected the mountains clearly. I saw a lot of people taking photos from the view deck one after another.

The snow on the trail to Shimo-no-kanba had been also melted, however, we need equipment for winter mountains to climb up to Mt. Karamatsu. At around 10:00 a.m, it was warm enough to get off my jacket.

At that time, more and more people came trekking. We could see the great view of Mt. Goryu and Mt. Kashimayari from Shakujii Cairn. By the way, Happo Alpen Line will be closed on Oct. 29 (Sun), but Kitaone Kogen Highland will last the operation until Nov. 5 (Sun).
