The rain falling from Sep. 6 (Wed) stopped in this early morning. Today, the lower part of the trail was covered with the clouds, but it got clear in the upper part from Cairn No.2. However, the peaks of Northern Alps had gone behind clouds already at 9:00 a.m. when I arrived at Happo-ike Pond.

I climbed up toward Mt. Karamatsu in the refreshing air. The trails hardly looked to be damaged by the rain and the temperature was nicely cool for trekking, so I could walk comfortably. The remaining snow got much less in Ougi-no-setsuden, although it covered almost all of the slope at the last report on Aug. 10 (Thu).

During trekking from Shimo-no-kanba to Kami-no-kanba, I saw the flowers of Hakusanshajin, Takanematsumushisou, Oyamarindo and Karaitosou. There was a colony of Nanakamado in the upper part of Ougi-no-setsuden, and they put a lot of red seeds.

When I got into the creeping pine tree zone over the forest line, the sunlight got more strong. In the trail to Mt. Karamatsu, this part is the last steep slope. The trail was kept well, so I could walk up quickly.

After 1 hour and 50 minute walk from Happo-ike Sanso Hut (1,850m), I reached Maruyama Cairn (2,361m). It was blowing a cool wind on the ridge and the clouds were moving fast in the east sky. I took a rest here and then, I left to Mt. Karamatsu (2,696m).
