It was a beautiful weekend and many people arrived early in the morning. The compacted granular snow felt nicely firm in Shirakaba Slope, although there were some small snowballs in the lower area. By the way, “New Model Snowboard Presentation and Test-Ride Event” will be held in front of Yuki-no-Hiroba between March 20 (Fri) and 22 (Sun). Reservations are now open.

20030702_tsugaikeThe snow was non-compacted in Champion Slope because of the lack of snow. Meanwhile, the fine granular snow was nicely compacted on the steep slope along Tsugaike No.1 Pair Lift (pictured). I enjoyed carving turns there as it was empty, located at the edge of the resort.

20030703_tsugaikeThe snow was powdery in the top area. The compacted snow felt nicely firm in Tsuga-no-mori Slope. “We look forward to your reports! We got to know each other through Twitter. We check your reports 5-6 times every day.”, a skier from Mie prefecture, another from Aichi, and the other from Nagano said.

20030704_tsugaikeThe snow was compacted in Han-no-ki Slope. The snow was fine and granular in the middle area. Meanwhile, the firm snow was covered with soft shredded snow in the bottom area. The “49th Tsugaike Kogen Snow Festival” will be held in Kane-no-naru-oka Slope tonight. The event will be shortened and only fireworks will be set off from 8 p.m.
