Tsugaike Kogen / ×10cm / Snowy2019.Dec.03
Although we had snow on November 30 (Mon), it’s been warm after that. We even had rain yesterday and sleet at mountain foot this morning at 7 a.m. The sleet turned into snow while I was going up. At Tsuga-no-mori Slope (in the photo), dry snow was falling silently.
[Tsuga-no-mori Slope]
Fresh snow was 10 cm deep at Tsuga-no-mori Slope and 6-8 cm deep at the area along Hannoki High-Speed Pair Lift (in the photo), which will be the first to open.It was -1 degree at 8 a.m. The temperature didn’t change even in the daytime and the snow gradually got intense.
[Hannoki Slope]
Snow surface was dry, while the snow just on the ground was wet and crunchy. Lifts were all ready to work, while Gondola was undergoing inspection of wire rope.
[Hannoki Slope]
We need heavy snow two or three more times to have tall grass along Hannoki No.3 Quad completely covered. Grass around Gondola Sanroku Station was bare before I started interview, however, it turned white covered with powder snow by 9:30 a.m. when I finished interview.
