Tsugaike Kogen / ◎130cm / Snowy2018.Dec.29

18122901_tsugaikeAll courses ( ※except for Umanose Course) are now availabe at Tsugaike as Champion Slope and Kanenonaruoka No.2 Slope have opened! We had about 20 cm of fresh snow last night, while there was about 40 cm of snow on the non-compacted area of Tsuga-no-mori. “I was stuck in a snowdrift.”, a lady coming from Matsumoto City, Nagano, told me.

18122902_tsugaikeThe compacted area of Tsuga-no-mori Slope and Godenba Course was nice with firm powder snow and 5-10cm of fresh snow. “The quality of snow is amazing. It’s really fun!”, snowboarders coming from Nagano City and South Africa (!), who’ve got to know each other at a ski resort, told me.
[Gotenba Course]
18122903_tsugaikeThere was a snowstorm at Tsuga-no-mori again this morning. However, it got better when I reached Hannoki Slope as the wind got weaker and the visibility improved. “We enjoy your reports!”, skiers coming from Nagano and Shizuoka said. Hannoki, which was covered with “compacted powder snow + 10 cm of fresh snow”, was getting rough, however, I enjoyed making smooth turns.
[Hannoki Slope]
18122904_tsugaikeThere was about 15 cm of fresh snow on the flat, compacted area of Champion, while 60 cm of fresh snow was “untouched” on the non-compacted area! Oyanohara Slope was nicely firm, which was great for beginners. It was crowded and Chuo Parking was almost full as of 7:30 am as it was New Year’s holiday.
