Tsugaike Kogen / △116cm / Snowy2018.Dec.20
It was cloudy and warm at the foot. Meanwhile, it was snowy and a strong wind blew from the southwest but it was also warm at the upper area. However, about 30 cm of fresh snow from last night was dry. Many people arrived earlier than usual weekdays as Tsuganomori Slope and Gotemba Rindo Course opened today.

The compacted area along Hannoki High-Speed Pair Lift was nicely hard. Many people were sliding slowly and I heard people saying “That feels good!”. The sky was bright at first, however, it got darker and snowflakes got bigger gradually.

Tsuga No.2 Pair was temporarily stopped in the morning due to the strong wind with speeds of about 17m… Later around 10 am (after the interview), it restarted and Tsuganomori Slope opened. Gondola is suspended between Gondola Chukan Station and Sancho Station due to the strong wind blowing continuously as of 12:30 pm.

A snowboarder coming from Nagano City told me “I enjoy your reports! It’s great to have snow! I often come to HAKUBA VALLEY, mainly Tsugaike, during the season”. The snow we had had recently was wet.
