Tsugaike Kogen / ×60cm / Snowy2018.Dec.14

18121401_tsugaikeHeavy snow and snowstorm has come finally!! Snow plows were working from early morning to remove fresh snow on the frozen roads and parking lots around the slope. There was over 40cm of snow, even on Kane-no-naruoka Slope, which was the lowest above sea level in Tsugaike.

18121402_tsugaikeIt was snowing heavily with the strong cold northern wind blowing as of 8:30am, which was like a blizzard. Poles standing on the skier’s left side at Oyanohara Slope were dimly visible in the distance due to the heavy snow.

18121403_tsugaikeThe snow laid about 45-50cm at slope base of Hannoki (as shown in the photo). As I went on a hike up Shirakaba Slope from here, the snow amount got over 60cm around the midpoint. Anyway, the snow was really light! The light texture of snow made me excited when I stepped on.

18121404_tsugaikeThe ski resort are very likely to open this weekend due to the heavy snow. On the other hand, “Amidasu” at WOW! (in the photo), which had been open since Dec.7 (Fri), is temporarily closed from today. It is going to reopen as “SNOW WOW!” after the slope opens.
