The long-awaited cold wave finally has come since last evening! The temperature was 0℃ as of 9:30am. About 4-5 cm of snow on Shirakaba Slope was melting and footsteps in the snow got sherbet-like. By the way, Burger King in Tsugaike Yukinohiroba is going to open on Dec.7 (Fri), while WOW! will open until the day before the slope opens.

There was almost no wind. My body got warmed up soon after I went on a hike up. As I went up, there was more snow on the ground. When I had a look at the upper area of the slope, I found visibility was poor because of snow and fog.

The sun was behind clouds most of the time, but it gradually appeared after a while. It made snow at the ending area of Maruyama and Hannoki Slope melting. Snow on the ground was not frozen anymore, while snow on trees was still left.

The snow gradually calmed down, however, it was still snowing even around 10:30 am. Snowflakes looked beautiful, lit up by the sunshine. Snow at Kanenonaruoka Slope was melting, while snow in the shade was left.
