Tsugaike Kogen / ◎330cm / Sunny2018.Feb.14

The cloud covered ridge lines of Northern Alps but beautiful blue sky spread. It was freezing in the early morning due to a radiative cooling but after  the sun peeked and the temperature got higher around 8 a.m.. It’s a perfect day for skiing and snowboarding.

I was looking forward to powder snow and headed to Uma-no-se Course. After skiing through flat and firm slopes at the top, the amount of snow at the middle of non-groomed slope was just 10cm! (That’s so few!) However, the slope that had some bumps was soft, which was good for skiing.

The bottom slopes in Uma-no-se were packed by the wind and the fresh snow was a little bit heavy. However, the bottom slopes that had some bumps were soft and I handled my skis easily. Shirakaba was fully groomed and powder snow was nicely firm, which made it easy to ski fast.

The slopes in Kane-no-naru-oka No.2 and Maruyama were wide and flat, I could make turns as I imagined. It was a nice day to ski long distance using the gondola and the quad lifts.
