We had a heavy snowfall until yesterday, and then, our concern is “when the lower part of Han-no-ki is open.” Now, the amount of the snow in the bottom part of Han-no-ki and Maruyama area is 60－70cm deep. The snow fallen yesterday remained as it was and fresh slopes were spreading out.

We had an ideal day for skiing and snowboarding. Staffs of Forest Snowboard Shop in Matsumoto City in Nagano and a man from Okinawa posed me with smiles. The weather forecast said that it would be snowing until this morning, however, only 3cm fresh snow was on the slope of Tsuga-no-mori.

3 courses which are open now are nicely groomed and when I walked on the snow, I could hear comfortable sound. The slopes were soft and edges of my skis worked well, so I could make turn without any frustration. The soft fresh snow remained on the sides of the courses still and I saw people jumping to there and raising spray of snow.

By the way, the middle part of Han-no-ki was widely groomed. Whether the middle and lower part of Han-no-ki will be open on this weekend depends on the amount of snow from tonight.
