Kurohime Kogen / ◎240cm / Sunny2022.Mar.09
The operation day is expanded to Mar. 27 from 21, so 18 days are left until Kurohime Kogen finishes the operation this winter. Not only in the ski area, even the rice field had such a lot of snow which hid the almost whole body of an excavator (Photo) and we can see just the upper part of its yellow arm. Today was an ideal day for riding with the blue sky and no winds.

The groomed slope of Shirakaba Course (Photo) was nicely firm, but the surface started to melt. I was impressed with the wide turns at high speed by experts. We could see the panoramic view including Lake Nojiri-ko from the top of the ski area.

Local students from Shinano-machi Town said, “We feel no pain when we fall down thanks to the soft snow. Snowboarding is a lot of fun even though we fall down again and again.” It was very cold, -7 degrees, this morning, but the temperature was getting warmer because of the strong sunlight and the groomed slope of KUROHIME FAMILY PARK (Photo) was already soft at around 11:00 a.m, although it was nicely firm at the opening time.

The lower part along the trees of Karamatsu of Cosmos Course (Photo) is a flat gentle slope, so it is recommended for beginners. The trees keep the slopes in the shades, so it relatively remains in a good condition for a longer time. Kurohime Kogen is still attractive to visit and enjoy riding even in March!
