Kashimayari / ◎85cm / Snowy2020.Jan.13
Maruyama Bypass A and Nakatsuna Super Rindo Course finally opened as we had snow yesterday. All courses are now open in Kashimayari! The compacted Course 1-A was covered with 3~5 cm of wet fresh snow. The upper part of 1-A was moderately firm and the lower part was very firm, which were nice.

“We’re on a day tour conducted by Orion Tour. We’re glad that it’s not rainy but snowy.”, a couple coming from Tokyo said. Course 1-B and 1-C were non-compacted and undulating, covered with 8~10 cm of wet fresh snow. I enjoyed the soft snow on my first slide, however, the slope soon got rough.

Shimashika Kids Park (500 yen/day, Open 9 a.m. ~ 4 p.m.) was crowded with families. Snow was wet, which was not suitable for sleigh or snow-strider ride and kids were playing with various items, not limited to sleighs and snow-striders. It was snowing lightly in the early morning. The snowflakes got bigger and it started snowing hard around 9 a.m.

The compacted Kurosawa Slope was covered with a thin layer of fresh snow in the early morning. (See the photo.) Ipponbuna Downhill Course was non-compacted, covered with 5~8 cm of wet fresh snow. There were bushes and bumps and I went down carefully not to lose control.
