One of most promising skiers in “Student Ski Competition (Demo Division, Men’s Individual Acting)” is Mr. Yamanoi from Health Sciences University of Hokkaido Demo Skiing Club. He won the competition for last two years in a row. He is a 3rd grade student and aiming for a third consecutive victory this year. Qualifier of Individual Acting was held yesterday and semi-finals started from 9 a.m.!
[Two Top Course]
303 skiers from qualifiers and top 238 skiers from previous competition, 541 skiers in total for men; 100 skiers from qualifiers and top 154 skiers from previous competition, 254 skiers in total for women were facing to semifinal. “Regulated Parallel Turn” was held at the last half of Two Top Course and students were competing their turn techniques.

“Short Parallel Turn” was held at the first half of Two Top. This group was formed by top skiers of previous competition and they were showing beautiful turns. And also, “Combined Skiing” was held at the last half of Kamoshika Racing.

At around 10 a.m., the temperature rose rapidly and I felt hot. And the slopes were melted very soft. By the way, Mr. Taniai (Kokushikan University Edelweiss Ski Club) from Men’s Group A, Mr. Norikyo (Osaka Kyoiku University Ski Club) from Men’s Group B, Ms. Matsukura (Chuo University Bamboo Skiing Club,on photo) from Women’s Group A and Ms. Fujita (Kyoto University Snow Panther) topped the qualifies respectively.
