6 days from today until March 2 (Fri.), “Student Ski Competition IWATAKE (Demo ski division)” is being held mainly at the slopes in front of White Plaza. The skiers were practicing at Kamosika Racing Course, Big Bahn, and Up Bahn before opening ceremony start from the afternoon.

It snowed a little from last night and there was about 2 cm of new snow on the side of the course at the upper area. It was not so cold and windless. South and Gezan Course was finely groomed and nicely firm. The edge bit well and I could make turns as I imagined.

Today was Sunday so many guests came early. The groomed slopes of Mountain Side became full of ski tracks in a minutes. The members of Hokkaido University Demo Ski Club skied down the crowded slopes beautifully after being taken a picture.

White Ribbon Course was not so crowded. The slope was groomed with a width of 2 snow-groomers and from the beginning to the middle, the slope was nicely soft. There were small ups and downs at the non-groomed area, but snow was soft and good condition to ski. The steep slope at the bottom part was covered with snow balls and it was uncomfortable to make turns.
