There was a heavy snowfall from the last night to this morning and the view had changed into winter suddenly. The blue sky spread out at 7:30 a.m. in Iwatake, however, the temperature was under 0 degree and my hands holding a camera got numb soon. The base area was covered with the snow and the amount of the fresh snow was about 15cm.

In Big Bahn, Up Bahn and Paradise, the snow amount is increasing day by day. There were stull bumps in the slopes, but almost all of the bushes went under the snow. The trees in the moutain foot area were also frosted and made a beautiful contrast with the blue sky.

In the slopes of Village Side, there was an over 20cm snowfall!! The dry and fluffy snow made me excited. Although Iwatake Snow Field will be open on Dec. 15 (Fri) on schedule, the summit area already has 40cm snow, so the opening day would be earlier depending on the snow condition.

The main roads toward Iwatake were groomed and the snow was rejected in this early morning. However, they were frozen until 8:00 a.m. There was a 10cm snowfall around JR Hakuba Station, so you need winter tires of chains when you visit Hakuba. After that, the ice on the roads were getting melting at around 9:00 a.m. thanks to the warm sunlight.
