After the three straight holidays with the calm warm weather, the Spring operation has started today. The gondola and 5-sen South are open now and the 1-day lift prices are JPY2,400 for an adult and JPY1,400 for a child. 2 regulars from Mie Pref. greeted me and said, “Today is the last day to snowboard in this winter.”

This morning, it was thickly foggy in the upper areas and snowing with a cold wind. The groomed corn-snow slope of South was nicely firm and covered with 3cm fresh snow. The snow was damp and heavy, but my skis ran well.

Gezan Course was in the similar condition with South, but most of people skied down slowly because of the bad visibility. When I came to Sunny Valley Course, the fog got thinner and there was 1cm fresh snow on the firm groomed slope. The snow was very damp, so I suddenly slowed down when I skied into there.

In Paradise, sleet almost like the rain was falling. The beginning part was not groomed and bumpy. The lower part was groomed, nicely firm and good to ski. Usually, the ground is exposed in the upper part of Paradise in lower March, but the slope was all white as you can see still.
