Happo-one / ○185cm / Rainy2020.Mar.12

20031201_happoIt has been snowy for the last three nights in the middle and upper areas. The weather improved in the morning but it was still cloudy and foggy in Kurobishi and Usagidaira. The compacted fresh snow was nicely powdery and firm along Kurobishi No.2 Quad.

20031202_happoIn the east, the sun was behind the clouds. In the west, I was able to see the blue sky and the ridge of Hakuba Sanzan. “I look forward to your reports. My 9 year-old child and I are staying here from Feb, 29 (Sat) till Mar, 15 (Sun).”, a man coming from Tokyo said.

[Kurobishi Slope]

20031203_happoThe compacted fresh snow felt soft in Skyline Course. While, the granular snow underneath felt hard when I used my ski edges. The hard granular snow was covered with about 10 cm of fresh snow in the non-compacted snow area.

The wet, fine granular snow was compacted and smooth in Kitaone No.3 Slope. Meanwhile, the compacted granular snow covered with the fresh snow was nicely firm in Usagidaira Slope. By the way, March 15 (Sun) is “Ski Children’s Day”! Elementary school students can take lifts for free.
