It was a beautiful warm day, which was great for spring skiing and snowboarding. It was +5℃ even in the upper area in the early morning. I took off my thermal underwear before skiing. I was able to see Mt. Goryudake (pictured middle) and Mt. Kashimayarigatake (pictured left back) in the southwest and Hakuba Sanzan in the west in the top area.
[Riesen Grat Course]
My skis ran smoothly in Riesen Grat Course, although the groomed corn snow was getting loose. Some soft moguls of large and small sizes were getting soft and loose in the non-groomed snow area on the skier’s left side.
[Riesen Grat Course]
The snow was very loose in Riesen Slalom Course. My skis weren’t stuck, although my ski edges dug into the snow when I made turns. The snow was a bit loose but there was sufficient snow from Riesen to Gondola Bottom Station via Shirakaba.
[Riesen Slalom Course]
The corn snow was loose on the south side of Usagidara Slope, too (pictured). There were ups and downs along Alpen Quad, where the snow was groomed yesterday. The snow was firm but wet in the area along Kurobishi Quad, which faces north.
