Happo-one / ○170cm / Sunny2020.Feb.21
The weather cleared up and there was no wind blowing. It was a great day for skiing and snowboarding. It was very cold in the early morning due to radiation cooling, however, it got warmer and nice when the slope opened. General visitors, mountain climbers, and backcountry skiers/snowboarders were lining up for Gondola because it was a beautiful day as the weather forecast said.
[Kurobishi Slope]
The compacted snow was nicely firm along Kurobishi No.2 Quad (pictured). I enjoyed carving turns using ski edges. I saw skiers, who will probably join in the tournament held from March 3 (Tue), having a practice.
[Kurobishi Slope]
The snow was hard in the top part while firm in the middle and bottom parts on the southern side of Usagidaira. I enjoyed making fast turns there. There were some medium and big moguls in the non-compacted parts along Alpen Quad and Kurobishi No.3 Pair.
[Usagidaira Slope]
The snow was firm and nice in Paranoma Course, too. By the way, the “50th Happo One Fire Festival” will be held in Nakiyama Slope from 7 p.m. tonight. You can enjoy torch skiing, kagami-biraki (cutting pounded rice cakes), a cup of local sake, fire dancing, lottery, skyrocket fireworks, etc. Arukuma, who won the first prize in “Yuru-Chara Grand Prix”, will also join us.
