20011605_happoIt was snowing last night and snow was about 10 cm deep at the upper area and 3 cm deep at the lower area. The sky was blue in the west and the sun shined through a thin layer of clouds this morning. Many skiers/snowboarders headed for the compacted Risen Slalom Course after taking off Gondola.

20011603_happoPowder snow was nicely firm on the top and middle parts of Risen. The bottom area of Usuba Slope was hard, covered mainly with artificial snow. The compacted southern part of Usagidaira, as well as the top and middle parts of Risen, were nicely firm.

20011604_happoThe snow condition changes day by day in Base Area as we’ve had snow every day since Jan, 13 (Fri). Snow, which included much artificial snow, was hard compacted in the top and middle parts. Meanwhile, the snow was non-compacted and the slope was undulating in the bottom parts. I enjoyed sliding down with my new skis as there were no bushes or grasses exposed.
