Happo-one / ○145cm / Sunny2020.Jan.11

20011101_happoIt’s unusually warm with a little snow this year all over Japan. The whole area of Happo One hasn’t opened even after the New Year’s holiday and the three-day holiday. Anyway, eight out of 14 courses, including Usagidaira, Kurobishi and Riesen, opened. The route from Risen to the foot via Nakiyama Public Course is also open. It was a beautiful day without wind.

[Distant View From Slope]

20011102_happoIt was chilly again in the upper area yesterday and today. The area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad was covered by the firmly compacted powder snow! Advanced skiers/snowboarders were enjoying gaining speed and slashing. A spray of snow remained for a while as they slashed.

[Kurobishi Slope]

20011103_happoI saw people starting skiing/snowboarding slowly at the top area of Usagidaira, which was covered with firm hard snow. (See the photo.) My ski edges dug into the snow well and I enjoyed gaining speed at the middle and bottom part. The snow was soft on the undulating area along Alpen Quad.

20011104_happoRisen Grat finally opened today as scheduled! I enjoyed soft non-compacted fresh snow from yesterday on the wide slope. “We enjoy your reports. We submitted hiking registration. We’ll head for Happo-ike pond from the top.
