Happo-one / ×1cm / Sunny2018.Nov.20

18112001_happoFirst snow of the season was observed at Sapporo District Meteorological Observatory at 0:50am on Nov.20 (Tue). It was 23 days later than the normal and 28 days later than the last year, and the latest snowfall coming on the statistics along with that of 1890. We have a little snow so far at HAKUBA VALLEY and it was the second snowfall on the slope of this season today, which was the first in 20days.

18112002_happoAs I climbed up Happo One Nature Trail • Ridge Course, I reached above clouds just before Syakujii Cairn and I saw a sea of clouds in the east. As I went up further from Kamaike Marsh, I found trees were covered with rime and the gentle northerly wind was really cold. Thus, I am looking forward to the coldest wave of this season during the three-day weekend.

18112003_happoI found clouds looking like futon in the direction of the Northern Alps. Unfortunately, the opening of Hakuba Happo One Slope, which had been scheduled on Nov.23 (Fri, holiday), was postponed. However, “a warm winter does not indicate a little snow” from the past experience. I would like to keep an eye on what it will be like over the weekend.
