It was raining around JR Hakuba station at 7 a.m, but the temperature went down afterwards and it turned into snowing at 8 a.m. when the gondola started the operation. There was a snowstorm at the top of ski area and ski lifts above Alpen Quad stopped the operation.

The fresh snow was at a depth of 5-10 cm in Panorama course, which made the course better to ski. However, we saw some snowdrifts and the hard snow ground.

Riesen Slalom Course got the 5cm fresh snow on the groomed slope. The fresh snow was a little wet and made ski area bumpy afterwards. The snow was wet and soft in Usuba area, the bottom of Riesen Slalom Course.

Visitors from Kyoto and Osaka gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports!”. As they said, “It seems ski lifts are gonna stop soon because of strong wind…”, the gondola, Kokusai 3 and Panorama Pair at 9:30 a.m. and Riesen Quad at around 10 a.m. stopped the operation.
