Last night, it was snowing heavily and the wintry view spread out in Hakuba this morning. Today, Happo-one Winter Resort was open 2 days earlier than the schedule and Kokusai No.1 & No. 3 Pair lifts started the operation at 9:30 a.m. This is 17 days earlier than the last season (*open on Dec. 8 last year) and Panorama Course is available now.

There was a line of about 20 people before the lift was open and they dropped to the slope one after another as soon as the lift was started. In Panorama Course, the north upper part and half of the south lower steep slope were groomed. The snow was nicely soft so that the edges of my skis worked well.

In the off-piste areas, there was 50cm fresh snow!! It was a little heavy, but still good and we could enjoy the soft feeling. The ground was exposed sometimes in the ungroomed areas, but there was no bush in the groomed slopes.

The snow stopped at around 7:00 a.m. and the blue sky spread out after that, however, the sky got overcast after the ski area was open. People from Hakuba who enjoyed snowboarding posed me. By the way, the gondola will be open on Nov. 23 (Thu)!
