It was much colder than usual in this season. The ski area was covered with thin snow and the mountain foots had the first snow as well. The first snow fall in the area in front of JR Hakuba Sta. on Nov. 26 last year, so we have it 17 days earlier than the last year.

As I climbed up, the road across Skyline Course was frozen. Because of the cold wave on Nov. 1－Nov. 4, the ground has got cold enough for snowfall. The wind was also chilly like the mid winter.

The snowfall in Kurobishi was about 2cm. Occassionally, the strong wind blew up dry snow. As Japan Weather Association said that, “We will have more snow than the last year”, it has snowed well recently.

The sun cast the soft sunlight in the early morning, but the snow got heavier and heavier after that. We expect the upper parts of Kurobishi and Usagidaira will have good snow in the next morning.
