In October, we had three snowy days on each Oct. 12(Wed), Oct. 29(Sat), Oct. 31(Mon) and finally it snowed on ski areas last night Nov 1(Tue). At the foot of the mountain temperature was 4 degree this morning. On Riesen Grat, the air was so clear and I could see beautiful snow world.

On the top of Hakuba Happo-one ski area, there was 1 cm of snow. Although it was powder snow in early morning, but it became wet because of ground heat.Further Happo-ike mountain cottage is available through the year.

The weather got better as the sun rising high, and soon I could see Mt. Hakuba, Mt. Goryu, Mt. Myoukou, Mt. Hiuchi and the mountain range of Togakushi coverd with snow. The sun melted snows on the trees and grasses and I heard the sound of the snow dropping.

The snow were piled up not only on Riesen Grat, but in Usagi-daira, Kurobishi and Skyline Course. In the ski area, preparations are going on busily on the lifts, restaurant. Hakuba Happo-one Ski Resort will be opening on Nov. 19(Sat), though it depends on the amount of snow.
