The little raindrops turned into big wet snowflakes in the morning. The slope was empty in the morning as it was a weekday and the weather forecast said it would rain. People, mainly overseas visitors, arrived one after another around 9 a.m.

“It’s rainy but I don’t care. I’ll fully enjoy the day off today. The slope condition isn’t bad, is it?”, a snowboarder working for Hakuba Highland Hotel said. The compacted snow was moderately firm in the upper part of Route 1. My skis ran smoothly thanks to the rain.

The steep slope (pictured) connecting the upper part of Route1 and Route 6 was also nice. The compacted snow was firm in Route 4, 5 and 6. My skis didn’t run smoothly on ski tracks covered by crunchy snow.

It was rainy at the bottom of Route1. The compacted snow was wet in the lower area of Route1.”I enjoy your reports! My skis ran smoothly so I skied straight down. We’ll go to the hot springs after this.”, a snowboarder, who works for Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort, coming with his friend said.
