Cortina / ◎270cm / Snowy2017.Jan.16
The snow had fallen for a long time, but it stopped temporarily at 8:00 a.m. and I could see the blue sky. I was impressed by the white slopes and the weak sunshine while riding lift. But the “Pow Fes” is going on and many people including international visitors were waiting at No.2 Quad and No.4 Pair, though today is a weekday.
[Ikenota]
The best slopes were Mt. Hieda Course 2 & 3 and Self-responsibility Area this morning. There were over 40 cm of powder snow at Self-responsibility Area along No.4 Pair, so the snow shot my face many times! I didn’t feel any grounding and I could enjoy the fluffy powder snow!
[Self-responsibility Area]
Although I felt the soft grounding at Mt. Hieda 1, but I could ski down comfortably. There were 3-5cm fresh snow on the softly groomed run of Hieda Forest and I could ski comfortably down to Ikenota. By the way, after 9:00 a.m., the heavy snow began to fall again.
[Mt. Hieda 1]
Thanks to the heavy snow and we couldn’t find any bushes on the steep slopes of Warabi Slope. The run was groomed flat and 5-10cm of fresh snow on it. It’s better to do practice to improve the basic skills at Warabi Slope.
