Tsugaike Nature Park / Cloudy & Sunny 2019.Jun.23
I visited Tsuga-no-mori Trail (700m) which connects Gondola Sancho Station and Ropeway Sanroku Station in the morning. The trail is known for mysterious but beautiful flowers of Sankayo, which become transparent in the rain (as shown in the photo). The flowers were almost over but some were still pretty.

By the way, Gondola early morning service is available from 7:30 a.m. over the weekends between Jun.22 (Sat) and Jul. 7 (Sun). It started to get cloudy around 7:30 a.m. this morning. I saw Mizubasyo and Ryukinka which were still at their best as well as Sankayo and Kinugasaso which just started to bloom on my way.

The course between Mosen-ike Pond and Tenbo Marsh have opened, although there was still some patchy snow left. All courses are now accessible in the park! “I enjoy your Snownavi reports!”, a couple from Tokyo said to me at the tall observatory at Yase Ridge.

There were Murasaki Yashio-tsutsuji (shown in the photo), Maizuruso, and Gozen-tachibana flowers which just started to bloom at Yane Ridge (※Shirane-aoi was already over.) I also saw many people going along the new boardwalk from Tenbo Marsh to Yase Ridge and further heading for Ukishima Marsh, taking the eastern route.

It started to drizzle around 11 a.m. By the way, “MIKKETA!”, an event starting on Jul. 19 (Wed), is a great opportunity to learn about wildlife and nature. It includes hands-on activities for preschoolers using learning material with “Shimajiro” held under the cosponsorship of Kodomo Challenge.
