Tsugaike Nature Park / Sunny & Cloudy2018.Aug.12
Yachi-torikabuto (shown in the photo) and Sarashina-shoma, which looked like a tail, were standing out along the trail in Mizubasho Marsh. I also found a cluster of Oni-shiogama in the middle-northwestern part of the marsh. The temperature was +18°C and it was really cool. I saw clouds rushing in the sky.

There were lots of families coming for the summer around Kusugawa River as it was in the middle of the Obon period. I saw children waking shallows of the river with barefoot and people surprised at cool stream. When I put the thermometers into the water, it showed +7°C and it was really cool.

I saw patches of blue sky until around 9:00 a.m. (shown in the photo), however, it got completely covered with clouds afterward. When I walked along round-trip course, I heard the song of a Japanese bush warbler. I found the flowers of late summer and early autumn such as Yama-rindo and Miyama-akinokirinso are in bloom.

Iwa-shobu flowers were especially standing out. I saw them a lot around Mizubasho, Watasuge, and Ukishima Marsh. Many people were trying to take photos of the flowers with their cameras or smartphones to keep them as a memory.

The Obon holidays started yesterday, Aug.11 (Sat). I saw children walking, holding maps for “Tsugaike Treasure Hunting” in their hand. Tsugaike Ropeway was under continuous operation as of 11:00 a.m. (usually operated at 00, 20 and 40 minutes past every hour). The up ropeway was almost full.
