We had a refreshing morning with the blue sky. We could see the peaks of Northern Alps from the first ropeway which was filled with people and the weather ideal for trekking made me excited. The air was cool in the morning, but it got hot soon because of the sunlight.

Because of the rain brought by the 5th typhoon, Noru, some parts of the trails toward Tenguppara were muddy. In Tenguppara, the wooden paths were changing to the new ones which are much wider. In the lower part of east face of Mt. Hakuba Norikura, I saw a lot of tall plants, such as Nanakamado.

During climbing up in the upper part, I felt the strong sunlight on my back. When I took a rest and looked back, I could see Tenguppara covered with deep green of leaves. The clouds got gathering as time passed, but I could see the peaks of mountains, such as Mt. Myoko and Mt. Hiuchi as well.

Although it is in middle August, there was still remaining snow. However, we walked on the snow for just a short distance in the upper part of the east face. The peak season of mountaineering has started already and I saw many families with kids.

At 10:00 a.m. when I arrived at Hakuba Oike Big Pond, it was blowing a breeze and the surface was waving a little. The big-scaled beautiful view was so impressive that I forgot the fatigue of trekking. After that, I met more and more people during climbing down, even though the sky got overcast after 11:00 a.m.
