Tsugaike Nature Park / Sunny & Cloudy2016.Jun.10
We have the first sunny day today since the rainy season started on June 5 (Sun.). The sky got overcast and Northern Alps was covered with clouds around 9:00 a.m. I found Takanezakura (Japanese Alpine Cherry) starting blooming on the way to Watasuge Marsh. It made me excited because the season for cherry blossoms finished already in the mountain foot.

The highland flowers had bloomed much earlier than usual in this year, and Mizubasho was beginning to wilt. “Mizubasho Festival” on June 11 (Sat.)-June 19 (Sun.) is renamed and will be held as “Tsugaike Nature Park Festival” (*some events on weekends). The trees and marshes started to change into fresh green looks in the summer season.

On the way to Ukishima Marsh from Watasuge Marsh, many highland flowers welcomed me. Especially, Shirane-aoi (Glaucidium Palmatum) around Ukishima Marsh was beautiful. It was blooming in Yase-one as well.

There were some small yellow flowers along wooden paths in Ukishima Marsh. The easterly course to Yase-one from Ukishima Marsh has been open already and almost no snow remained.

Today was a good day for trekking with the soft sunlight and a cool breeze. The highland flowers were also blooming in Yase-one. By the way, the remaining snow in the area from Mousen Pond to Tenbou Marsh was likely to be thawing.
