Madarao Kogen / ◎300cm / Sunny2022.Jan.19
It was a perfect day for skiing and snowboarding with no wind. I saw the untouched snow slope with corduroy pattern on my way to Mt. Madarao, which made me excited. “We’ve got heavy snow yesterday, so we’re looking forward to powder snow today!”, three snowboarders coming from Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, said.

Super Quad was delayed due to the emergency maintenance to remove ice. I took No.2 Quad, which began operation on time at 8:30 am, instead to move to the upper area. I enjoyed slashing on the amazing Carving Slope, where soft powder snow was perfectly packed (pictured).

Powder snow was softly groomed on the lower Giant, too (pictured). Skiers and snowboarders disappeared along Rabbit Course and Kamoshika Course into the forest one after another to enjoy powder snow. Super Quad finally started running at 10 am.

I saw many skiers and snowboarders around Crystal Bowl in the forest and around No.13 lift station. Non-groomed snow was blanketed with about 40 cm of “soft” fresh snow on the middle area of Giant (pictured). I saw three snowboarders pictured in the first photo again. “Snow was excellent as we expected. Couldn’t be better!”, they said.
