Hakuba Iwatake / △90cm / Sunny2020.Mar.17

20031701_iwatakeIt was unusual for mid-March, and yesterday was cold during the day and snow continued to fall.  However, VIEW C and VIEW D, which had severe snowfall, were closed yesterday.  From today, Hakuba Iwatake is now open on gondola, 4 line East, 3 line North lifts, 2 slopes in East (pictured) and North.

20031702_iwatakeThis morning, which was blessed with fine weather and a breeze, cooled down to the same level as the top season with radiant cooling.  “I’m always watching! I woke up early thinking that it was the last chance for powder,” said a season ticket holder living in Omachi.  A beautifully soft spur was drawn on the moderately soft powder snow compacted eastern slope.

20031703_iwatakeThe snow-covered surface of the North Slope, which was opened at 9:30, was already moist due to the strong sunlight.  Many people aimed at about 20cm of fresh snow in the non-compacted snow area under the 3rd North Line.  Eventually, the ridgeline of the Tateyama mountain range began to have a cloud of cotton, which grew larger and more like a futon.

20031704_iwatakeGo back in time and be the first in the morning.  The view of Mt. Amakazari and Mt. Hiuchi in the north was wonderful, as well as Shirouma sanzan.  Already finished last week, all the courses on Hakunori’s Skyview Slope and Cortina, where the soil was visible, were blank.
