I saw a number of students practicing for the “National Student Iwatake Ski Competition” which starts from Mar, 1 (Sun). Gondola started working past 9 a.m. this morning due to the inspection. “We look forward to your reports! We’re practicing for the student competition. We hope the fog will be cleared up.”, members of the If Basic Ski Team at Aoyama Gakuin University said.
[East Slope]
We had heavy snow in the upper area of Snowfield yesterday. I didn’t expect 20 cm of fresh snow, considering the weather map and temperature. The compacted wet snow felt soft in East Slope (the top photo) and in VIEW D (the bottom photo).
[VIEW D]
My skis were sometimes stuck when I skied down the gentle slope of VIEW D. The snow layer was partially thin in the lower area but it was okay. Visibility was good in VIEW D compared to other slopes.
[VIEW D]
“We look forward to your reports! Our aim is to make a good score in the freshman competition.”, members of the ski club at Shinshu Univerisity said. South Slope was covered with a sufficient amount of soft compacted snow and no bushes were exposed.
