At Iwatake, the event “Thinking about climate change from snow resorts for three day” is being held from Feb. 2 (Sun) to Feb. 4 (Tue). Today, the Global Climate March was held at 11:00 and 14:00, led by the HAKUBA SDGs Lab. A couple from Hyogo Prefecture who participated gave me the word, “We always watching your report!”

Participants of the Global Climate March wrote a message of their choice on a piece of cardboard prepared on the Sky Arc terrace seat and made a plastic card. At 11 o’clock, both those with and without plastic cards on the southern slopes slid together and brought the action of a “climate crisis.”

In the last three days, the power used in the snowfield is covered by 100% renewable energy, a rare activity for a ski resort in Japan. By the way, the five courses that could be slid were generally flat and moderately soft and slippery even after many spurs entered.
