It was snowing again today, January 3 (Tue). It was not chilly this morning with the temperature at 0 ℃ and with the gentle wind blowing. East Slope was non-groomed and undulating, covered by 10 cm of fresh snow. The snow was not hard and my ski edges gripped the snow well.

Only two slopes are open this year, although you can usually reach Gondola Bottom Station at this time of the year. So, it was not very crowded in the early morning, even though it’s the second day of the New Year. I was able to enjoy powder snow even on my third and fourth run. The snow kept light and nice after skiers and snowboarders passed one after another.

“We enjoy your reports! We’re staying with my cousin (pictured right) and nephew (in orange ski jacket). We’re going back today. We never expect this much snow… haha.”, a couple coming from Osaka (pictured left) said.

Both East Slope and North Slope were in good condition. There were no bushes and I fully enjoyed going down. Visibility gradually got poor because of the snow and the dense fog.
