Happy new year. Thank you again for Iwatake this year. It was rainy until the morning of yesterday, but the temperature fell during the day and changed to snow. The first day of 2020 was fine weather, the upper temperature was -7 ° C and the lower temperature was -8 ° C due to radiation cooling. The trees around the middle to upper slopes were stained with hoarfrost, and the contrast with the blue sky was beautiful.

North had open on afternoon of December 29! Hakuba S-Class has also started. A staff of the ski resort said, “I always enjoy your report, happy new year! I’m on holiday so came to ski to get the fast track.”

The non-groomed North was covered with 2-3 cm light fresh snow. The fresh snow cushion made the tight and rough ground for a comfortable ride. At the end of the course some tall grass appeared, but this did not affect the ride.

East was in a condition of “shallow undulation + about 2cm of fresh snow”. A mother from Shiga Prefecture said, “I’m always watching your report! I’m glad to see Snownavi first day in of the new year.”
