We went above clouds getting on Goryu Telecabin. The view of Mt. Goryu and Japanese North Alps against the blue sky fascinated visitors and they took photos at some places of Alps Plain. There was almost no wind and the comfortable air made us smile after the opening time.
[Mt. Goryu]
Panorama Course and Grand Prix Course (photo) had been groomed and they had fine dried granular snow. Edges bit snow, so we could repeat tuning as we liked. By the way, we have ‘Red Bull Edge in Hakuba Goryu 2019’ in Grand Prix Course on tomorrow, Feb. 23th (Sat.).
[Grand Prix Course]
Trees from the middle to the top of slopes were coverd with hoarfrost because of the cold from last night to this morning. Dynamic Course had compacted granular snow and the condition was the same as Grand Prix Course but the snow became softer as sliding down. Advanced skiers speeding up were contrary to beginners and intermediates being careful not to slide too fast.
[Champion Dynamic Course]
The surface of snow became more muddy from the middle of Woody Course and it was ‘crisp texture’ in Toomi Slope. But it was still easy to slide down. We could also enjoy the ‘crisp texture’ of snow in Powdersnow Course.
