The sunlight was strong and it got warm around 10 a.m., although it was cloudy. The firmly compacted snow was covered with the loose granular snow in South Slope. The ground was partially uncovered with snow.
[South Slope]
DC PARK was crowded with intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. The compacted snow was firm in the north-facing slope and I was able to get a good start sliding. I saw some advanced people, including an instructor in Hakuba Iwatake Snowboard School, hitting the advanced kicker and jumping high.
[North Slope]
The shredded snow felt soft in the bottom area of North Slope. The ground was partially uncovered with snow in Sunny Valley Course. You’d better take Gondola for your safety as it’s hard to avoid some bushes and ground.
[North Slope]
Many people were relaxing at the terrace of HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR, which commands Ushiro Tateyama Mountain Range, including Hakuba Sanzan. It was so warm that I didn’t need a jacket. I even saw some people having a cold drink. For your information, the popular “Pretzel Croissant Sandwich”, is available at THE CITY BAKERY from 10:30 a.m.
