The blue sky was spreading out over us for the first time this season since Dec. 18 (Sat) when the ski area was open! The groomed slope of Ikenota (Photo) was nicely soft with the fresh snow. It was not crowded with people at around 8:30 a.m, so I could enjoy making wide ski tracks on the fresh slope while riding.

The contrast of the white frozen trees and the blue sky was so amazing in the upper areas. The slope of Mt. Hieda Rinkan Course (Photo) was groomed from the top to bottom and softer than Ikenota. It was very cold this morning because of the radiative cooling, but it was getting warmer gradually thanks to the sunlight.

Itadaira Course (Photo) and Mt. Hieda Course 1 never got groomed this season and the slope of Itadaira Course was covered with big and small bumps. However, the bumps were still soft and topped with 3-5cm fresh snow, so it was much easier to ski there than I expected. Mt. Hieda Course 1 was in the same condition as well.

In Kids Play Park, Sledding Area (Photo) and Snow Rafting (JPY1,500 per person) are available now. A father of a family from Shizuoka Pref. talked, “I was looking for the ski area with a kid park opened, so I came here today. My son looks to enjoy playing with the snow even in this early winter season.”
